What I did for summer vacation......

Summer is nearly over.  In a few weeks children everywhere will write the same essay….. “What I did for summer vacation.”  It was always my favorite paper of the year!  I loved telling my teacher about my summer.   But, when the papers were graded, passed out and read aloud it was hearing about the summer adventures of my friends that thrilled me to no end.

Roadside Stops Might Be Hidden Treasure

A few years ago we took a wacky tour of Eastern Colorado, making sure we hit every wacky little museum and stop in sight.  It was truly one of our favorite adventures that taught us to never overlook something that seems like “no big deal.”

So, with that new mind set we now travel and take our breaks at some pretty unique spots.  Today was no exception.

What's an Ikea and why is it on a travel blog?

Normally, I would write and tell you about a vacation spot we visited.  This week it was not a vacation destination, though it could be.  This week it was not a resort, though I could hide in there and be pretty comfy.  This week it was not a museum, though yeah it was a museum.  It was a stop at Ikea in Denver Colorado.

A Leap of Faith

We are just home from a weekend in Thermopolis Wyoming for my 42nd Birthday.  Thermopolis is a little town with about 3,000 people at a windy Wyoming elevation of about 4300 ft.  It packs a lot of fun for such a small community so we just love going whether it is a quick weekend get-a-way or for a stop on our way to Yellowstone National Park or Cody Wyoming.    (http://thermopolis.com/)

Since I am the "PERFECT" age for a mid-life crisis I thought I'd share my little story.  I am also sharing a photo that is not a favorite because I am in a bathing suit but it is my proof this happend  -- YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
