Four Ways to Fall for Fall

Here it is folks - fall.  That mysterious season that for some reason seems like the shortest of the year.

Fall has always been a time for remembering to me.  Homecoming, bonfires, biology club canoe trips, family drives in the car.  The smells of fall, almost make me weep.  Chilli, leaves, Halloween candy in a plastic pumpkin, wind, rain, even the chill in the air has a scent that lets us know that winter is closing in on us.  Before we know it we will all be rushing around for Christmas, New Years and then the long wait for summer.

So, don't miss it.  I know it is a time of soccer games with our children. Rushing here and there with school carnivals and fall fund raisers as we dash to finish it all before the whoosh of winter rides in without any thought to our plans.

Your children, your family and you can make amazing memories and grow closer to your family in this time when we toss a blanket over our shoulders and go to a football game, a hayride, a road trip to see the changing leaves in the next county over or even a bike ride just to crunch the crispy fall leaves under our tires.

Don't wait.  Go-Go and fall for fall.

1.  Pick up a book like: The Most Scenic Drives in America: 120 Spectacular Road Trips and make a plan!
The Most Scenic Drives in America: 120 Spectacular Road Trips
and go to a free museum (9/25) to celebrate the arrival of fall!
3.  Take a hike or bike ride:  http://www.railstotrails.org/   OR http://www.trailslink.com/
4.  Have a BBQ with the neighbors and watch a football game together.  Place horseshoes, hillbilly golf or if you wanna live large show the game on the garage door with a projector and settle in just like you are at your favorite stadium cheering on your favorite team!    Sharper Image Wonderwall Entertainment Projector

Whatever you do.  Don't wait. Enjoy yourself... it's later than you think.  Just go-go!
